Avanzi is constantly seeking the most effective ways to drive sustainability into innovation. We are focused on Italy but we also work closely with the most qualified universities and research centres in Europe to assure independence, a rigorous approach and “state of the art” output.

To pursue our goal we have established a research programme (SIRP – Sustainable Innovation Research Programme). The aim of the programme is to play a role in the development of sustainable innovation processes at national level, analysing the related key aspects and success factors: drivers and barriers, the nature of innovation and innovators, the evaluation of output and impact on the resources of the system.
We have a research team which is composed of experts in several disciplines such as economics, energy, climate change and also green and social entrepreneurs. The academic contributors include the Department of Architecture and Planning (DiAP) of the Milan Polytechnic, the Centre for Research on Energy and Environmental Economics and Policy (IEFE) of the Bocconi University and the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna of Pisa.
